David has just returned from a fabulous week in Florida where he demonstrated his unique skills at the magnificent 2012 PGA Merchandise Show at the Orange County Covention Center in Orlando. It's an annual event which attracts over 1,000 exhibitors from all of golf's leading companies. Golf Officials from all 50 US States were pesent and there were representatives from no fewer than 74 different countries. "It's the best trip that I have ever had to America," said David. "I was delighted with the way it went."
David was in action on the opening Demo Day at the show - not once, but twice. "I performed my show at the 10am slot and was pleased with the way it went," he said. "After I had finished, the guy who was due to do a show at 11am had not arrived. When the organisers asked me if I would perform my show again, I was delighted to do so."
David's profile was raised even higher when part of his show was also screened on American Television's golf channel. And he has also won some new admirers on the other side of the Atlantic - including Butch Harmon, a top tv pundit and former coach to Tiger Woods.
"When I met and talked with Butch, he told me how skilful he thought the show was and how much of an impression it had left on people who had watched it," said David.
"The whole PGA show is massive, with a total exhibition area stretching over about 10 miles and many of the top names in golf are there.
"Among them were Jack Nicklaus, Tony Jacklin, Ian Poulter, Billy Casper and top US lady player Paula Creamer. Top coach David Leadbetter was also there."
While in Florida, David also got US Solheim Cup star Christina Kim to perform a few shots in his show.
"She remembered me performing at the Solheim Cup in Ireland last year," David explained.
"I got her doing a few shots and then finished up by persuading her to let me do one of my favourite tricks by hitting a ball off a tee which she held in her mouth while lying on the ground."
This week David has returned for another show in Turkey where he brought in the New Year by performing at the home of one of his main sponsors, the Gloria Hotels and Golf Resort at Belek in Turkey.
February too promises to be busy with a sixth visit to the Danish Golf Show in Herning.
David is then back on mainland Europe in March for another appearance at the Dutch Golf Show.
April is once again highlighted by what will be an amazing sixth appearance at the Volvo China Open.
Golf is becoming a huge sport in China, it is being taught in schools - and David's brilliant show is always in big demand.
David is looking to expand his incredible range of skills even further during 2012.
"I am looking to introduce some left-handed shots and also try out a few more impersonations," he declared.
December 2011
David took his show to the United Arab Emirates for the Dubai World Championships.
"It was a wonderful end to what has been another terrific year," he declared.
2011 has seen David again take his show to some of the major global events.
They include the Solheim Cup in Ireland, the British Open at Royal St George's and the Egyptian Open.
"To be invited to perform in Dubai last year was quite something," said Edwards.
"To be invited back again this year is just as exciting for me.
"It's the pinnacle event of the year with some of the world's top golfers in action - players like Luke Donald, Martin, Kaymer, Lee Westwood and Rory McIlroy.
"The players like to take part in the show themselves, and that's nice.
"Last year Rory McIlroy and Louis Oosthuizen took part in one of the routines."
And it's not just for his amazing trick shot show that David is finding himself in demand. His brilliantly entertaining on-course commentary is proving more and more popular to sponsors of the top tournaments.
He performed it for sponsors at the British Open and in Egypt.
And performed the commentary again during the Pro-Am in Dubai.
September 2011
Solheim Cup appearance for David.
After performing his show at the Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor last year, David was delighted to accept an invitation to show his amazing trick shot skills at Killeen Castle before the start of the Solheim Cup - the women's equivalent of the dramatic team clash between Europe and the USA.
"The atmosphere at these prestigious events is tense in the build-up and I think everyone welcomes a bit of light relief," he said. "I have performed the show in Ireland many times before and I was delighted to be back there again."
At the beginning of November, David took his show back to America again to perform at the Jack Nicklaus-designed Concession Golf Club in Florida. And after returning hime, he was quickly in demand again, this time entertaining visitors to the London Golf Show at Earls Court.
David Edwards is renowned around the world for his mastery of shots using unconventional and downright bizarre equipment. However, it is mostly his skills and the unbelievable control over the golf ball he possesses which make the audience stare in sheer amazement. All of this spiced up with some hilariously funny impersonations of tour players and the ever changing pace of the show wins David a leading place in the industry and repeated invitations to return back to major golf tournaments and high-profile corporate events.
But trick shots are only one part of David's armoury. He also regularly tours golf clubs around the UK and beyond delivering video commentary on golf days. His tongue-in-cheek observations and wry humour are proving extremely popular at golf events as the ideal way to round off the day in the clubhouse.

Renowned around the world for his stunning array of trick shots, David has racked up 20 different countries over the last 12 months and appeared at major events such as the Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor and the Senior Open Championship at Carnoustie.

I relish being able to demonstrate different trick shot techniques and to make use of some unusual golf clubs to provide slightly more relaxed entertainment for golf fans."

Trick shot Maestro David Edwards reveals new PING “plumbing” club
It might be a long way from the titanium heads and graphite shafts used by most golfers these days but trick shot maestro David Edwards certainly isn’t plumbing the depths with the latest addition to his golf bag.
The record breaking former European Tour professional is never one to rest on his laurels and has “tapped” into the creative expertise of leading golf equipment manufacturer PING to develop a club with a difference.
David’s new plumbing club consists of a driver head and a shaft made out of not one but several plumbing pipes joined together. To dispel any doubts about the club´s inspiration there is even a red turning tap attached to one of the pipes.
The plumbing club joins a weird and wonderful selection of golf equipment such as a cricket bat club, a fishing rod club, a club with a shaft made of a hose pipe, a club with in hinge in the middle of the shaft and a club where the driver head is fitted at the end of a golf umbrella.
“My golf trick show has seen a huge growth in popularity in the last year. I think the new clubs add to the fun and the quality of experience it delivers to the audience and ensures it never stays the same. The plumbing club is a new challenge for me to master as it is relatively hard to hit but there are plenty more in the pipeline!”
Dave Fanning, PING´s European Marketing Manager commented: “PING is delighted with the tremendous success of David’s show. He has great energy and enthusiasm for continuing to develop new ideas. As far as we can fit a club-head at one end and the grip at the other we can deliver virtually any kind of club for David. PING is a highly respected brand but working with David allows us to show the fun side of the business.”
David will showcase the plumbing club and the rest of his golfing arsenal in a busy schedule of appearances at major golf events over the summer. He will be performing at the PowerPlay Golf event at Celtic Manor on May 30th where the men’s and women’s US Open champions Graeme McDowell and Paula Creamer will be among the competitors. David has also been invited to appear at the Solheim Cup at Killeen Castle in Ireland on Thursday 22 September.
David is internationally renowned for his trademark “scissor shots.” He set the record at the Scottish Golf Show in 2010 by hitting 312 golf balls in three minutes.

The first two pieces are now available online in the Instruction News section of Golfmagic.com. Further features will follow on May 6, 13 and 20. Video clips of the trick shot techniques will also be introduced.
“I am delighted to be able to share some of my secrets with visitors to Golfmagic.com and I hope this will help them to have even more fun playing golf,” said David. “My trick shots require a certain amount of skill and imagination but perfecting them requires hours of practice. The beauty of learning trick shots is that it teaches you new skills that can help you in your normal game.”
Bob Warters, Chief Editor of Golfmagic.com, said: “I have seen David's show several times over the years and never cease to be astonished by it. Watching him pull off these shots inspires you to learn more about the game and improve your own technique. It is absolutely fascinating to see how he does it and I´m sure visitors to Golfmagic.com will relish the opportunity to try these shots for themselves.”

From day one of 2011, David has been displaying his unique brand of skills and expertise to audiences across Europe. The golfing audience in Scotland is second to none and last year they were hugely supportive when I set the world record. I’m planning a few special things for them again this year,” smiled David.
David is renowned for his trademark “scissor shots” as well as the range of quirky clubs he uses in his show which includes clubs with a shaft made of a hose pipe, a cricket bat, a fishing rod and one where the driver head is fitted at the end of a golf umbrella.
There is no doubt that 2011 will be yet another busy year for David Edwards with a series of appearances at major European golf shows and tournaments already scheduled.
November 2010 Rory's Tricked...To A Tee
As one of the best players in the game, World Number Nine Rory McIlroy is used to getting out of tricky lies.
But the 21 year-old from Northern Ireland was left with no escape when former European Tour pro David Edwards roped in the Ryder Cup star to help with one of his trick shots during the Dubai World Championship presented by DP World.
Edwards, who is entertaining huge galleries all week at the final event on The Race to Dubai, had McIlroy lie prone on the ground while Open Champion Louis Oosthuizen held a long tee on his face before Edwards crashed a full blooded drive from the tee.
Regarded as the best trick show entertainer in the world, Edwards currently holds the world record for his famous Scissor Hands shots – 310 balls in just three minutes – which was one of many stunts that proved popular with pros and spectators.
Edwards also showed off his talents with a variety of unusual golf clubs including a double headed iron, a club with the head of a hammer, extra long drivers and clubs with rubber shafts.
November 2010 Trick shot maestro David Edwards at Dubai World Championship
Martin Kaymer and Graeme McDowell will not be the only people making the Race to Dubai this week as world renowned trick shot maestro and former tour professional David Edwards will be entertaining the galleries at the grand finale to the European Tour season.
David will be providing some light relief with his own unique brand of skills as the Ryder Cup stars battle it out for the US $7.5 million prize money. Some of the world's top golfers as well as the crowds will have the chance to enjoy David's displays including his trademark "scissor shots" routine which earned him a world record in March for hitting 312 balls in three minutes. David will be using his special set of PING clubs which include clubs with a shaft made of a hose pipe, a cricket bat, a fishing rod and one where the driver head is fitted at the end of a golf umbrella.
His appearance in Dubai will be a fitting climax to a season which has seen him perform in five continents at prestigious events including the Ryder Cup, the Volvo China Open, the Egyptian Open and the Seniors Open Championship. David will be performing two shows a day at 12:45 and 15:00 from Thursday to Sunday on the practice range at the Earth and Fire courses at the Jumeirah Golf Estates.
"The Race to Dubai is the true pinnacle of the European golfing season and I have no doubt that it will be a wonderful event," he said. "I am looking forward to appearing in front of the galleries and hopefully contributing to what promises to be an electric atmosphere.
"It has been an excellent year for me and the Dubai World Championship will be my fifth event on The European Tour schedule. I am becoming a bit of a familiar face for the players and although I occasionally do impersonations of them they have given me some great feedback! Golf at that level is so serious that I think everyone appreciates the opportunity to have some fun."
Following the tournament, David will put on one more show as a part of the Official Sponsors' Day on Monday and will also entertain the competitors with his inimitable on-course video commentary which places them in the spotlight for the day and delivers some wry observations on the golf being played.
October 2010 Trick shot maestro and on course video commentary specialist goes global
Renowned golf trick shot maestro David Edwards will take his unique brand of skills to no less than four continents around the world as the year draws to a close. His top class golf trick show and the ever growing popularity on course video commentary will entertain a truly global audience.
Hot on the heels of his appearance at the Egyptian Open, the former European Tour player performed at the Callaghan Tire Charity Pro-am in Florida last week and will be heading to Dubai at the end of this month to stage a show at the Dubai World Championship.
As well as his dazzling array of golf shots, David Edwards specialises in providing humourous on course video commentary of golf matches which has grown hugely popular especially with the corporate clientele over the last year.
David Edwards' brilliantly witty video film show has been known to make grown men cry. Whether it's a corporate day, a society day or even a captain's day, David gets on the course with his camera and microphone and captures the magic - and not so magic moments – to amuse the audience with it as a part of the after-dinner entertainment. Fabulous chip to the green or putt to win the hole as well as those embarrassing moments in the bunker or the bushes David makes sure he knows the name of every player and captures them in action.
"What I film is all unedited and during the dinner at the end of the day we play it back on a big screen accompanied by my on-course commentary based on dry sense of humour," says David.
“The players absolutely love watching the video. Apart from bringing so much fun into a corporate event the video makes them feel like the real golf stars for the day and gives them an idea of what it feels like to be in the spotlight on a golf course.”
Dennis Taylor, Former World Snooker Champion, shares his experience with David’s video show: "David is a golfing genius. His on course video commentary had me and the guests in stitches. He has a rare talent and his quick witty sense of humour will enhance any golf day."
Rory McIlroy, the winning Ryder Cup Team Member, commented: “What a great show and your ball striking was impressive, your video commentary captured the magic moments and had everyone in laughter.”
David builds his video show on an extensive professional commentary experience. Recently he has provided the voiceover for the Manx Classic, which was broadcast on SKY Sports.
It follows a busy season for David which saw him performing to huge galleries at the practice days at the Ryder Cup at Celtic manor in Wales, catching the attention of some of the European stars including Bubba Watson, Miguel Angel Jiménez or Rory McIlroy.
David said, “It really has been quite a year. Appearing at the Ryder Cup was one of my personal ambitions and it was a genuine thrill to perform in front of such great crowds with such an electric atmosphere.
“It promises to be an exciting end to the year and I am very much looking forward to taking the show on the road to the US and the Middle East.”
September 2010 David Edwards´ Trick Golf Show at the Ryder Cup
Fireworks are expected at the Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor this weekend but in the build-up to the event some very different golf shots will be on show.
While the likes of Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Padraig Harrington and Rory McIlroy prepare to battle it out in the famous biennial clash between the USA and Europe, world record breaking trick shot maestro and former European Tour player David Edwards will be entertaining the galleries with his extraordinary golfing skills.
The world’s top golfers as well as the crowds will have the chance to admire David’s displays including his trademark “scissor shots” which earned him a world record in March for hitting 312 balls in three minutes. David will be using his special set of PING clubs which include clubs with a shaft made of a hose pipe, a cricket bat, a fishing rod and one where the driver head is fitted at the end of a golf umbrella.
“I am very excited to be here at Celtic Manor and helping to build up the anticipation for the matches with some displays,” said David. “The Ryder Cup is such a fantastic event with such an electric atmosphere that I think people enjoy having a bit of fun as well. It is certainly a highlight of my season to appear here and I am very pleased to see so many spectators enjoying my show.”
David will be staging his last performance at the Ryder Cup on Thursday. From there he will travel to Cardiff Bay where he is scheduled to provide corporate hospitality entertainment for KPMG clients on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night.
In a busy year working closely with the European Tour David’s travels have taken him to major events such as the Volvo China Open and the British Senior Open at Carnoustie. At the end of October David will be travelling to Egypt to perform at the Egyptian Open.
David will finish off the season in style in the United Arab Emirates performing at the climax of the European Tour at the end of November in the Dubai World Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates. Following the event David will participate in the sponsors´ day and entertain the participants by providing a light-hearted on-course commentary.
August 2010 David Edwards´ Trick Golf Show goes even quirkier with PING
World record breaking trick shot maestro and former European Tour player David Edwards has signed up with premium golf equipment manufacturer PING.
Working closely with PING David’s objective is to bring more new elements to his internationally renowned show. PING will supply David with standard clubs as well as the quirky ones. The latest addition to David’s show is for example a club with a shaft made of a hose pipe or a club where the driver head is fitted at the end of a golf umbrella.
Both these new clubs have been developed by PING´s master club fitter of 35 years David Cowling. He said: “It has been great fun working with David Edwards on his clubs and to have the opportunity to develop something different. David and I have had some interesting conversations about what new clubs we could make as well as about updating some of his old favourites. New to the show are also the PING cricket bat club and the PING fishing rod. In terms of inspiration all I have to think about is that there has to be a club-head at one end and the grip at the other. In between everything is possible as long as I can make it stay together. I have been making PING clubs for 35 years and for some of the best players in the world. We need to be precise in what we do. The same goes for David’s clubs.”
David will use the new Ping equipment during his numerous shows in the summer and is spending time training with the new clubs.
“I am delighted to be associated with PING,” he said. “I regard PING as the No. 1 golf brand and their expertise in club fitting will bring a whole new element to my show. Including the new clubs in the show has been great fun and their premiere at The Senior Open Championship at Carnoustie last month was a roaring success with the audience.”
Dave Fanning, PING´s European Marketing Manager commented: “PING is delighted about David’s show, which has to be one of the best, if not the best trick shot show in the world. David is passionate about the quality of the show he puts on which is one reason why it is so popular and why we are keen to help him. It is also a great way for us to communicate the importance of custom fitting of golf equipment but getting that message over in a fun yet informative way.”
The highlight of a busy summer schedule for David will be his appearance at the Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor in Wales from September 28 to October 3 where the world’s top golfers will have a chance to admire his truly extraordinary skills.
